The museum was founded in 1885 at a time when shooting clubs were an important part of Switzerland’s social and national life. Important exhibits also date from that era. The great silver cup of Dutch King Wilhelm III and that of German Kaiser Wilhelm II.

There are not just rifles, but also shooting trophies on display, watches and cups for which every shooter with a keen eye would give his or her level best. Then there is the collection of medals and coins and extensive pictorial material on the subject of shooting.
